Conway's Game of Life
An interactive demonstration of John Horton Conway's cellular automaton, implemented in JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas. Click cells to toggle them on/off, then click Start to watch the patterns evolve!
The Rules
- Underpopulation Any live cell with fewer than 2 neighbors dies
- Survival Any live cell with 2 or 3 neighbors lives on
- Overpopulation Any live cell with more than 3 neighbors dies
- Reproduction Any dead cell with exactly 3 neighbors becomes alive
